Finally able to announce! I have received all of the money raised at Paramedic Nat’s Evening for Mental Health, and including separate donations made in the event’s name, the evening raised a total of $3902.73!
A huge thank you to the County of Simcoe Paramedic Services, Barrie Police Services, Barrie Fire Services, CFB Borden, the Maclaren Art Centre, everyone who donated, attended, volunteered their time and services, were speakers, and who supported this vision and made it possible. I love you all!
I am happy to share that this is just the beginning! In the new year I have been given several more opportunities to speak and raise awareness and funds for mental health. I will traveling to Alberta, New Brunswick, and speaking for Sunnybrook Basehospital, to name a few. I will also be presenting the peer support group model which many fellow first responders, dispatchers, and healthcare providers have been helping me to create over the past few months, and I look forward to sharing my experiences with all of you along the way!
