Great topic to discuss!
I found being the mother of a child who was brutally assaulted I had to come up with ideas to allow her the freedom of expressing her feelings that were unable to be expressed verbally….
So I the clean freak and all about routine and organization told her that her bedroom was her place to write or draw anything on her walls that she wanted to
“Graffiti” covered every inch of her walls.
I say that expressing feelings can be released safely in different ways
And as o taught her
Feelings aren’t right or wrong
They are just feelings!
Feel them…don’t numb
Feel whatever you want
I only posted this so someone else going through a similar experience might want to try this method
22 years later, I picked up a marker this past week and I’m writing my feelings out on a bathroom wall!
Thank God they are washable markers.
Only they really aren’t feelings
They are quotes on healing!
How cathartic!
